Eva giving a course
For Eva Vlavianos the teaching of iconography should be taken seriously, and with great respect, so she sets out to transmit with fidelity, her experience of many years of work and research which have traced her spiritual and artistic way.

Iconography is a sacred art mainly associated with the liturgy and spirituality of the Eastern Church, which has influenced the origins of eastern sacred art.  That is to say, that a certain interior disposition is necessary as well as an artistic talent, in order to learn the requisite techniques. It demands much time and preparation, above all spiritual, on the part of the student.

Eva Vlavianos proposes a certain asceticism or communal discipline to the participants at her courses, to help create a climate conducive to interior inspiration: silence in the studio, times specially set aside for liturgy, and the learning of techniques
